Named after her great grandmothers, Edith and Ellen, baby Meredith Ellen Power
was an absolute angel during her baptism at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church,
Campbelltown, New South Wales.
A close-knit group of family and friends gathered after the ceremony for lunch at the
Campbelltown Arts Centre Café where it was a case of everything’s coming up daisies.
Yellow gingham table runners, improvised tin can vases swathed in sunny wrapping paper,
cheery bunting and lots and lots of daisies decorated the venue. Meredith looked so sweet
in a dress from her aunt and a lemon cardigan knitted to match by a very proud
nanna.
Gourmet wraps were on the menu for the grown ups and the kids tucked into noodle box
treats. Dessert was white chocolate and passionfruit mousse, lemon and raspberry tarts,
ice-cream sundaes and lots and lots of lollies. Mum Katherine had whipped up a scrumptious
Martha Stewart inspired daisy cake and Polka Dot made monogrammed daisy cookies for
everyone to take home.
After lunch, the children played in the beautiful Japanese garden and invested a lot of
energy in counting the koi fish in the pond. For little Meredith it was a big day. Cuddle after
cuddle kept her busy until she finally fell asleep, a big cousin making a very comfy pillow.
